Feferi stared at him as he screamed in horrified fascination, her mind unhelpfully replaying how the breaking bone had felt. She had broken the bones of others and had hers cracked in turn during training accidents but never because of a careless mistake.

Guilt roiled, fighting with the temptation to blame it on the fool currently bleeding on the ground.

His nose had broken so easily under her elbow. If she'd been a little more off she could have killed him by accident. A bit of bone in his brain and he would have been a goner.

"I'm sorry," she said numbly, fists clenching and unclenching at her sides. "Can you help him?"
