Jane's gaze met Fef's, her resolve refusing to waver. She parted her lips as Feferi closed, preparing to apologize for flying off the handle like she had, but the woman was already gone in a huff. And even if Jane had managed to flag her down, cripes, what would she even say? She had been harsh, but truthful. Feferi had whipped into their lives like a hurricane, and just expected everyone to mold to her will. Jane's shoulders slumped as Jake approached, and did not meet his eyes. She'd let him down, she knew she had. At his words, she simply nodded, refusing to meet his gaze as she turned back towards the parking lot, doing her best to ignore those who likely were staring now that the scene had played itself out.
