Out of nowhere a blinding light blasted through the growing darkness and the wolf yelped in distress as its coat went up in flames.

It jolted into the air but the fire kept burning, crackling loudly with a smell of burn fur.

With a distressed howl it tore off into the woods, away from the accursed gods with their unnatural abilities, a fading beacon of light.

Soon all that remained of its presence was a lingering reek of burned hair, blood, and a number of injuries.
