Tavros’ mind blanked when Kanaya turned to talk to him. The effortless, concise tone she used to reaffirm him in his powers at first startled him, but at second thought, became more of a calming presence.

“I.. uh, thank you.” He murmured, glancing away and down at Sollux and the Professor, feeling his cheeks turn from pink to a deeper red as he thought to himself in order to feel at ease again.

”Breath, Tavros. You can handle this. You’re a superhero. Just like the rest of them. You calm Sollux down. You can do that with them too. Protect people. You’re okay.”

He turned his gaze back to Kanaya and gave her the slightest smile. “I’ve been able to work with birds, uh, and I calm people down. I guess that’s protection, in a way?”
