Jake rubbed the sleep from his eyes, having arrived quite a bit late, as everything finally came into focus and the Queen's words registered with him. Hadn't he meet this monarch before? It seemed like a distant past or dream to him as he began becoming aware of his surroundings.

Young gods? Oh... did that have something to do with the hero-stuff Jade had told him about? So, maybe this entire thing wasn't just a dream. Maybe it was really happening. But what was the Queen talking about with victories and oh! There was Jade. Maybe he could talk to her. After all, they hadn't spoken in quite awhile, not for lack of trying on his part.
