Kanaya stared down at the plush green suit, fabric soft between her fingers and stitching fine and precise. It was a bit odd that she'd made this at all, but she might as well put it to its intended use...

A few hours later he swung the door open to the cafe and found an empty seat near the front windows. The day was far too warm for a hot chocolate, his usual at the cafe, so he went without. Pulling his phone out, he sent Kanaya a text letting her know he was waiting for her.

"Hello," she said, grinning easily and sitting down at the table as well. She shifted her bag to her lap and began digging through it for the suit. "How are you?"

"Sup," he greeted in return, casual as always. "I'm not doing too bad. Dirk wasn't around so I didn't even have to lie about who I was seeing." He said it with a grin, knowing the animosity that continued between the two. Dirk meant well, but he really needed to chill.

Her mouth twisted. "Like I said, I'm aware that this gesture is a bit unorthodox but ever since I saw that figurine at your housewarming festivities its extremely well-worn outfit has reoccurring in my thoughts, essentially begging to be replaced. I couldn't seem to focus on compensated commissions my until I completed this project."
She tapped her nails nervously on the table, waiting for a response.

"I... uh," he sputtered awkwardly. "Well shit, Dirk'll probably love it. He adores that shitstain fuckin' puppet, I'm surprised he hasn't made it all sorts of weird ironic outfits at this point. I guess he's too busy making enormous quantities of smuppets to get around to that."
Dave carefully picked the suit up, turning it over in his hands. It was incredibly well made. "Did you, like, measure him at the party or something? This looks perfect."

She brightened again. "But I certainly would like to believe I have an eye for many challenging aspects of design, especially when the particular aspect is fitting. Though admittedly this project was the most certain I've been regarding that portion before... Perhaps my heightened vision has granted me advanced spatial reasoning as well."
She zoned out for a moment before her eyes lit up. "Oh, and before I forget -- I designed this with you in mind, and ideally its reinforced padding will offer some protection during any upcoming supernatural skirmishes. I hope it can compensate for whatever clothing items I was responsible for damaging that unfortunate evening in the park... You've been so graceful about the situation it was the least I could do."
The proffered ruby and carmine jacket looked like a basic hoodie at first glance. Upon closer inspection however, Dave would notice its two layers. The interior was asymmetric, snapping closed with buttons, while the outer layer zipped up in a golden stripe up the center. The sleeves would reach Dave's wrists.
"Please wear it -- it would be pleasant to not simply speculate on its appearance while in use but witness it firsthand."
