Jade relaxed in her dorm room, leaning back in her chair as she thought. Sitting in the closet next to her was her super hero outfit - something she'd just constructed, for the next time monsters came out. But there was so much more to this whole thing than being a super hero - there was the Queen, all of the people gathered at Prospit, something about their other halves?

As her thoughts trailed off, dissecting bits of memory, she recalled something a bit strange. Hadn't she seen Jake on Prospit before? The dreams were always a little hazy, but she was sure she had seen him at the Queen's meeting a month or so ago, and then maybe out and about the towers since then...

Well, she still had his pesterchum handle. What could it hurt to ask? Jade quickly grabbed for her laptop and started typing.

GG: hey!!! :D
GG: what's up, cuz? hehehe :)
GG: it feels like it has been ages since we talked!
GG: how have you been? where are you living now?
GG: and.... this may be a weird question!
GG: but have you had any strange dreams recently? :o

It was a slow day at work, not many people calling in to schedule trips and vacations, so Jake had a lot of down time on his hands. He wasn't sure what to do with it all. Did he work on his schoolwork? He had a paper that was due next week that he could work on. Or maybe he could peruse the internet for something fun to do.

Instead, his eyes caught a glimpse of a poster advertising an old place he'd traveled before with his Grandma. He remembered meeting up with his Grandpa and cousin Jade. The nostalgia made him wonder how his cousin was doing. It had been quite a while since they'd last spoken. Before he'd moved to town even. Although, he could vaguely recall possibly seeing her in a dream with lots of golden spires and a white monarch.

Almost as if the universe were reading his mind, the young man's phone dinged at him, signalling an incoming message from his pesterchum app. By golly! It was Jade! Speak of the snickering devil! He quickly moved to respond.

GT: Tally-ho there, jade!
GT: Its been quite a while, hasn't it?
GT: Ive been very well after moving to Sburb. How about you, dearest cousin mine?
GT:*tilts head slightly*
GT: Strange dreams?
GT: Well, i guess so. I just dont really remember then all that well.
GT: All I remember is a lot of gold and a white monarch.
GT: Why?

Hah, she knew it! Gold and a white monarch could only mean one thing, and what it meant was that she had found another hero. It was convenient, at least, that she already knew who this one was. It would be easy to get him to meet the others.

More surprising was the fact that he also lived in Sburb City. When had that happened? How long had they both been living in the same city, unaware of each other?

GG: omg!!!! jake how long have you lived in sburb?
GG: thats where i live!
GG: i cannot believe we have been living in the same place this WHOLE TIME.
GG: anyways those dreams are really important actually!
GG: they are kind of real? or they are at least shared dreams that a lot of other people have been having
GG: including me!
GG: have you noticed any cool and unexplained powers recently? :o

Wait a darned tootin' second. His cousin lived here?! Why was he not aware of that sooner! They could have been catching up and spending time togethwr. Maybe even hunting together like the old days. He missed her and the times they had and now, Jake may very well get that again. Oh tarnation, why hadn't he gone out and about more sooner?

GT: Ive been here a few months actually.
GT: I came to go to school for archaeology.
GT: Tarnation, i had no idea you were here too!
GT: Should we meet up? Catch up and reflect on old times?
GT: Make new times and do things together again?
GT: Golly ive missed you jade!
GT: The dreams are real? I barely remember what happens in them.
GT: Strange.
GT: Cool and unexplained powers?
GT: Mayhaps. I have noticed a peculiar buzzing in my chest since moving to town, but other than that no.
GT: Why? Is something amiss?
GT: Are there unexplained happenings afoot?
GT: IS THERE AN ADVENTURE TO BE HAD?!

GG: archaeology sounds cool! and right up your alley too :D
GG: where are you studying?? im at skaia studying physics
GG: and yes the dreams are real and YES there are unexplained happenings afoot!
GG: well....... i guess they are KIND of explained? by the queen and everything
GG: but her explanations were so vague that i don't know if they count :/
GG: but some people are getting together and trying to be super heroes!!
GG: i might even have an outfit put together...... but thats a secret! :)
GG: anyways, we should definitely meet up soon and then i can try and put you in contact with some of the other hero people if you want? :o
GG: i am sure there will be all KINDS of adventures with them

GT: It is amazingly neat to study all the old findings!
GT: It will most certainly come in handy on my adventures.
GT: I am at Crocker U with my girlfriend. Isnt Skaia all the way across town?
GT: We indubitably need to meet up, cousin!
GT: It has been far too long.
GT: Where would you want to meet up?
GT: Maybe the park?
GT: And thank the dickens i wasnt hallucinating those dreams.
GT: Im still very confused about them as i dont remember much but at least they are real.
GT: Super heroes? Outfits?
GT: I dont fancy myself much of a hero, jade.
GT: I dont think this buzzing in my chest is necessarily a heroic power.
GT: But i suppose well see, wont we?

GG: it is on the other side of town!
GG: but luckily there is this thing called...... public transportation! :o
GG: anyways meeting at the park sounds good!
GG: could we do this time next week maybe?
GG: and i do not know what your powers may be? some people have really obvious ones but other just seem to have a lot of... gumption! :P
GG: but it can't hurt to connect with them, i think!

GT: Let me check my summer class schedule toot sweet.
GT: Alright. I believe that next week at this time will work splendidly!
GT: I cant wait to see you again, jade! What a great time the two of us will have once more!
GT: And others havent come into their powers yet?
GT: Maybe something will come of this buzzing yet then!
GT: Its blasted annoying though. It flares up at seemingly random times.
GT: But yes, maybe we can discuss my supposed powers at length during our meeting and see what can be done about them.
GT: So this time next week at the park?
GT: Let me make a few memos so i dont forget!
GT: I really cant wait to see you again! Its been too blasted long.

Jake closed down the chat window he had for his cousin, a wide smile on his face as he moved to mark down on his calendar the meeting date. In his mind, he was reminiscing the times he had with Jade in the past, all the trips he and Grandma met up with Grandpa and Jade on. All the hunting trips. All the trips around the world they traversed with each other during. And now they were both in the same place once more. It was time to meet and catch up again. The next week couldn't come fast enough for Jake, honestly.

With that thought in mind and a giant smile on his face, the man turned back to his job, noting that he had a few new emails concerning trips that were booked already. Whoops! He'd not been paying attention to his inbox while speaking with his family. One can't neglect his job! So Jake set to work on answering questions and returning to the tasks at hand, barely noting how much faster time seemed to be going by already.
