Neigh-8ors | Closed to Nepeta and Equius
Having packed the most of her belongings into designated boxes and with only a few hours left to "VACATE THE PREMISES" before "LEGAL ACTION" would be taken, Vriska decided now was the opportune moment to enlist some help in the Immediate Apartment Scramble(TM)
Nepeta was stronger than she looked and Vriska knew this; her petite athletic friend would be much needed man-power in moving all this crap. Especially in the state she'd found herself in after her recent encounter with the 8eefucker. Her knuckles were left bruised-- she'd managed to get in at least one good lick before... whatever that was that he did. And what he did had left most of her chest with second degree burns, very painful and very gross looking burns. Luckily her shirt hid her gingerly bandaged injuries.
"Whatever he is, whatever he did to me... I'm going to get him back for this," Vriska spoke to herself out loud, having lost her original train of thought. She quickly remembered the task at hand though.
Vriska rummaged around for her phone, finding it under one of many, many boxes labelled "Nic Cage memorabilia" in messy, looping blue marker.
Are you 8usy?
Of course you're not. And if you are, this is waaaaaaaay more important.
I need your help.
We're HUNTING... For a new apartment.
I'm getting kicked out and I need someone to help me move ASAP.
I need you to 8e here as soon as you can.
Text me 8ack when you see this.
Vriska sent the message to her frisky friend before tacking on an additional text.
Oh, and 8y the way...
Do you know of any cheap apartments in town? Like, literally ANYTHING that isn't a total dump will do.
Vriska continued packing while she waited for Nepeta's answer.

I know a guy whose servaces we could put to use ;33c
:33 < i can’t say that i do
:33 < but i would be happy to ofur you a purrlace on the couch until we can find you something betpurr- She considered that message before hitting send, and then deleted it. She was happy to help Vriska out in a pinch, but she wasn’t sure she wanted vriska living on the couch for an extended period of time. She started fresh-
:33 < i would be happy to help you find a suitable purrlace to live, and failing that i can talk to meulin about it and s33 if she would be willing to let you crash on the couch fur a little while?
Ah that one was better. Meulin was the one on the lease, and it sort of made it seem more last choice.
:33 < i know a guy who is suited fur the task of helping move boxes or furnature. i can ask him if he knows of anything about cheap places to rent too!
She sent the messages along, and then started a new one addressed to her most mysterious, and bestest, of her friends.
:33 < hey, stinky, guess what!? i’ve got a furiend who n33ds help moving and it would be supurr of you, if you would help me, help her do it!
Re: I know a guy whose servaces we could put to use ;33c
Not even the sudden existence of superpowers, heroes and monsters could break the mechanics early morning workout routine, but a message could allow him a little break. He unplugged the phone and walked to the shadow given by the back of his shop before unlocking the screen and reading the message written in a particular shade of green.
D --> Good morning nepeta, i do hope you had a nice and plentiful breakfast
His eyebrows rise at the request before his right hand reaches for the towel hanging off a hook on the wall and wiping the thick wall of sweat of his eyebrows.
D --> In need of my help? Unsurpurrising, but yes, I can lend a hand. Or rather, a couple of strong hands that will do wonders moving heavy common household adornments
D --> I will be at your house after a... a couple of showers. unless I should meet you wherever this mysterious moving person is. In either case: smell you later
Usually, Equius wouldn't be this compliant after someone interrupted his workout session but he feel like had to make up for the embarrassment he put Nepeta through that day at the cafe.
Re: I know a guy whose servaces we could put to use ;33c
She tapped out a response as she got ready to go.
:33 < good idea!
:33 < i wouldn’t want you stinking up the joint, you big smelly cr33p.
:33 < and it would purrobably be purreferable fur you to make a good impurression with Vriska.
:// < she can be kind of…. idk just kind of mean sometimes, i guess that’s the best and nicest way of putting it.
She hit send as she picked through the pantry looking for something to snack on while she waited for Equius to show up. Nep settled on a granola bar as she opened up another message for Vriska
:33 < my furiend is going to be on his way shortly. once he’s here we will be ofur to help you shortly!
:33 < purrlease try to get along with him it will be hard helping you move if he doesn’t help.
He's fuckin' ripped!
Pleeeeeeeese, when have I ever 8een hard to get along with?
I'm sure we'll 8e thicker than thieves.
See you soon.
It wasn't very long after she messaged Nepeta that Vriska heard the car pull up outside. Vriska peered down to the curb from her second story window, spotting Nepeta and her towering, almost comically buff friend she'd brought to "help" them with the move.
He was more than help! He was a one-man apartment-moving TEAM! Vriska clambered down the stairs, greeting Nepeta more warmly than usual, grinning ear to ear.
"Heeeeeeeey Nepeta! So glad you came to help! And THANK YOU soooooooo much for coming along as well!" Vriska extended a handshake towards Equius, looking like she'd just won the lottery. "I'm Vriska, and you are...?" ...Ripped McGee, furniture mover extraordinaire, I presume.
Vriska bounced back from the curb towards the stairs, calling after the two of them. "I'm on the second floor. Pretty much everything is already boxed up. It's not a whole lot, really, just more than I can manage on my own." ...Not to mention I have no car, STILL have no place to go, and a second degree laser beam burn. But who's counting at this point?
"By the way," Vriska said, stopping on the eighth step and peering down at Nepeta. "Any word from Meulin? I've been packing boxes pretty much all day and I haven't really gotten a chance to look at apartments yet."
Barn right.
He followed her directions and they soon found themselves in front of the strangers apartment building door. His frown borrowed slightly when he heard her overly sweet tone, Equius knew a player when he met them and this gal as fragile as she seemed was a threat without a doubt. But in the end he had agreed to help her so he shook her hand with more verb than needed "Hello, My name is Equius". Keeping it short and cold was surely the best way to end interactions as soon as possible, just help her move wherever she needed to go and keep it as a cordial aquintance, make note of telling Nepeta to delete this Vriska from her contact list.
Following the girl he heard her mention Nepetas older sister, she still hadnt found a new place? that was odd indeed, though the mystery was soon cleared when he saw the note on her door "Well, I may not know much of apartment etiquette but that does look bad. Is there something we should know, Vriska?" he quirked an eyebrow looking down at her, regardless of the answer he would still move her boxes, be it to his car or the street.
rude ass meowther furricker
She had seen the note after Equius pointed it out with a barbed question following just after. What was she supposed to say to vouch for Vriska when she was getting kicked out of her current apartment? She elbowed Equius in the ribs to try and distract him from the situation at hand, “Don’t be rude.”
8oxes... and 8oxes... and oh! More 8oxes.
Another friendly note from Helen was taped to her door. Just what she needed. She ripped it down before the others could get a closer look, glancing over it impatiently. "No, no Equius, everything is fine. My landlord is just a very unpleasant woman with a very colorful imagination." It was a slight lie, but Vriska thought it would probably be best not to mention Sollux's involvement in her eviction to Nepeta or Equius for the time being. "She thinks I had a rooftop lesbian orgy. Which I DID NOT, for your information. But if I had it would've been worth getting evicted amirite?" Vriska wiggled her eyebrows suggestively, breaking into a fit of laughter. She collected herself, unlocking the door and waving them inside after her. "Okay, but really. I didn't. Helen's just a huge bitch."
Boxes were stacked precariously all over the living room, labels like "8r8ka8les," "dishes," and "Nic Cage memora8ilia" messily written on their sides. Vriska pouted at Nepeta, grabbing a roll of tape and a maker and heading towards an open box.
"Aw, Nepetaaaaaaaa," She complained, folding the top of the box closed. "I'm sure she won't mind. You'll hardly notice me! Just like a spider living in to corner of your ceiling! ...Well, except I wont be on your ceiling." She taped the box closed, ripping the tape with her teeth and scribbling a label on it with a flourish. "Besides, where else am I going to find to stay? I'm kind of down on my luck right now, if you haven't noticed." Vriska gave the two of them her best puppy-dog eyes.
"I guess we should start packing this down into the car then, right guys!!!!!!!!" She lifted one of the heavier boxes, labelled almost illegibly Nic Cage shrine candles, and passed it to Equius. "Be careful with that please! It's very important."
You can take a horse to a lake but you can't make it take your stuff across.
That didn't mean he couldn't be an ass in the mean time "That sounds quite interesting, do you know if she is in the building at the moment? id like to hear the other side of the story" He commented in the most deadpan tone he could muster, which wasn't very hard to do, as he walked in one of the most run down places he had been at (That being the second, the first was Nepetas).
He took the box off her hands and placed it on the floor before stacking other two boxes on top of it, he took the miniature tower with minimal effort and walked towards the door wondering why would someone write so many eight in between letters, it was f001ish.
playing hot potato with the spider
Nepeta felt sorry for Vriska, being kicked out like she was, but at the same time she wasn’t really sure what to offer her. She wasn’t quite convinced by Vriska’s assurances. “I hate to pawn her off on you, but I really don’t think keeping her with me would be a good idea… Do you have any ideas, pal?”
If he pretended he didn’t have room to spare she may have to resort to just telling Vriska about the unused rooms in Equius’ garage, and then it would be all out of her hands up to Vriska to chip away at the mountain of a man until he was gravel under her heel. The poor, sweet, smelly, creepy, guy would be no match for Vriska if she had it in her mind to pester him.
Nep picked up a box and carefully set it on top of another before lifting them both, and following after Vriska to go load up all of her worldly possessions into a strangers car.
Potatoing in the void
Vriska packed a box out to the car merrily, setting it on the ground gently before giving the trunk a tap. "Alright, its moment of truth! Where are we taking all my shit?"
Re: Potatoing in the void
Equius stops beside Vriska pondering about the possibilities as he sets the boxes on the floor and his hands work on opening the trunk "There are a great many number of empty apartment building around the industrial zone, it would be easy to set you in one of them if you don't mind the lack of electricity, water and heat. It took me a... lot of Franklins to get the services reactivated for my shop" The trunks cap popped open and one by one Vriskas boxes were set gently on the sea of clean towels, spare parts and a metal bow along with its quiver.
"It was quite the deal, imagine my surprise when such spacious building was cast aside only because the structure was set on top of one of the main pipes of the course. "Structural integrity" a horses back quarters, the place is more than sufficient for business and living, As nepeta can attest. Im certain we can find you something just a good, maybe as spacious too." Equius rambles on and on while he walks back to the woman's previous home.

If Vriska could stay somewhere near equius, maybe they would be lucky and she would stay out of trouble. Having Equius around to monitor her could only be a good thing as far as she could tell.
"What do you think Vwhiskers? I think Equius would make a purrfect roommate fur you!"
...And in the we8 was written the words "Some Horse."
Nepeta chimed in and Vriska nodded enthusiastically, flashing a toothy smile. "Nepeta that sounds GREAT!" She would take what she could get, and what she was getting seemed to be a pretty good deal. Maybe her luck was turning around after all.
"How about it, Equine?" Vriska bobbed excitedly on her toes, doing everything short of shoving them into the car. "Looks like we're gonna be NEEEEEEEEIIIIIIIIGHBOOOOOOOORS!!!!!!!!"
Business opportunities are never scarce.
But still, he can't just have someone at his place for free, that would be preposterous. Such level of goodness should be rewarded somehow "For the moment I will agree, but in return you will pay something similar to rent, though it won't be to pay for services as I can cover those expenses myself. Payments will be banked so I may arrange for another building to be green-lighted for housing, I don't see you fit for those delicate negotiations." He turns decisively and gives one last look over his shoulder "That point is not negotiable, later we will work on a contract"
In less than an hour Vriskas belongings are packed in Equius plateless car and the mismatched trio are in their way to Equius shop, Nepeta picks the music this time around.
