SH3S MY CH3RRY P13 || Closed to Jane
It had been awhile since her spring classes were over and she had a break from school during the summer. She didn't find interest in studying all year long without a break even if it would've helped her get her bachelor's degree quicker. Due to finals and saving the city from mass destruction by giant monsters; Terezi had been slacking on going to her favorite bakery where one of her friends had worked. They hadn't talked much since her last visit and Terezi was ready rectify that.
Stepping into the shop, the bells attached gave a friendly alert to the employees as she entered. Her long cane tapping against the hard tiled floor and she closed her eyes to breath in the fresh baked treats. With her heightened sense, she could tell some of her favorites had just finished coming out of the oven. It wasn't long before turning her head slightly that she could pick up Jane's scent from across the room. Walking over, she smiled, "Jane!" Terezi called out, her pace quickening until approaching the glass case of cookies, cupcakes and pie. "Hey, I survived classes again. What about you?" Her excitement on being able to talk to her friend again had her rushing with topics to discuss. "How were finals?"

The bells sounded in the main part of the bakery, alerting the young woman. She looked down at the fresh baked goods still sitting on the pan and decided she would tend to them once she was finished with the customer. The cherry tarts and pies needed to cool anyway.
As she moved into the main part of the building, Jane's smile grew even wider as her eyes landed on Terezi, a good friend of hers. Before she knew it, the other woman was shooting off questions left and right. It was clear she hadn't changed in the slightest.
"Hello, Terezi! I survived my main classes well enough, but I am taking a few summer classes just to make sure I have a grasp of the material," she responded, trying to answer Terezi's questions as fast as she was asking them. "Honestly, finals were quite difficult, but I feel like I managed well enough. How were yours? I do hope they weren't too hard on you." Jane leaned on the counter slightly, knowing that with Terezi around not much would get done.

She tilted her head, trying to smell through the glass to figure out what was inside. Terezi wasn't surprised Jane decided on summer classes as well. "You're so studious, Jane. How could you spend a Summer hitting the books?" She groaned, just thinking about being cooped up in her dorm studying again. Thanks to all of the super hero nonsense she gained quite a group of friends and acquaintances to keep her busy until Fall.

"I'm terribly sorry you lost your case, but it's good to hear you passed at least!" Jane responded, truly sorry that her friend had lost the case. She then laughed as the other female pointed out just how studious she was. "You do know how I am, Terezi. Keep in mind that I don't have much to do over the summer, aside from working here. Of course, Jake and I will go on a few dates here and there, but things have been surprisingly bland thus far." She shrugged before a smile came forth on her face. "Give me one second. I'm going to get something for you," she said, moving to the back and grabbing a few of the cherry tarts. They were still warm, but not overly so.
Jane then went back to the front, setting the tarts down in front of her friend, knowing they'd be sniffed out easily. Terezi was like a blood-hound when it came to different smells, especially those of the cherry or red variety.
Terezi: Start Drooling
Her eyes lit up as she pushed herself against the glass case and bounced up and down. "Yes yes yes!" She beamed, if she wasn't hungry she surely was now. When the treats were placed in front of her; Terezi tactless grabbed for one straight away and took a hearty bite out of it. It was buttery, gooey and plump with cherries. "It's so good. Is this what ascending to Heaven feels like because I think after I finish these I'm ready for the next world. Even my skeleton will be smiling after I decay and rot in the ground." Her morbid sense of humor only heightened her admiration for Jane's skills at baking. It was a great compliment.
Before taking another bite, she pointed the half eaten tart at Jane. "Speaking of cases, this coming Fall I'll be looking into Law Firms to intern at. I'm going to actually be apart of real cases!"

She couldn't help but laugh again as Terezi pointed the tart at her, a few cherries falling out of the tart and onto the counter. Jane quickly grabbed a cloth, picking the cherries up and wiping away any hint that they were there. She took in what Terezi said, happiness flooding through her. "That's splendid! You're going to be fantastic and I'll bet that you win every case, hoo hoo!" she grinned.

What was once music to her ears now gave her a sense of tension due to her secret identity. Her smirk and smile faltered before grabbing another tart to eat. It had been while since the fight with the biclops, Jade's death and the second summon from the Prospit Queen. Her nose twitched, smelling Jane and beginning to recall recognizing the same scent on Prospit. It was a faint recollection but one that made her wonder if her friend was struck with the same kind of luck. "I'm glad the shop didn't get ruined in that weird monster attack earlier this month." Terezi replied, bringing back a casual smile. Jane had a sleuthful nose as well; if Terezi wanted easy information she had to watch how she played her cards.

She couldn't help but notice how Terezi's smile had faltered, though she didn't say anything at that moment, unsure of what was going through her friend's mind. It was never clear when dealing with Terezi. When the female brought up the monster that had attacked, her eyebrows furrowed. "Yes, we were very lucky nothing happened to the shop! While Dad has the money to fix things up, we would have lost quite a lot of business here."
The way Terezi acted confused Jane, until she realized the tone of voice. She'd heard it before- it was her interrogation voice. All business with a sense of pride. Why on earth would she be asking questions about the attack in such a way? Jane automatically thought back to the powers that had begun making themselves known. They were small things, so there was no way Terezi would know, right?
Jane could put everything back onto Terezi, and she knew it. Clearing her throat slightly, the woman rested a hand on her hip. "Why do you bring up the monster? That's quite the change in subject, Terezi."
YOUR TURN M1SS CROCK3R >;]
The black and white twin towers of light and darkness that became a beckon in Central Park before the giant biclops appeared and attacked was the talk of the news, paper and folks in the city. Police were starting to be on the look out for any strange beings or people that may be involved in the cases. "I was wondering what you thought of it all. I know how skeptic you can be." She teased.

"The thing that gets me is why these monsters are running around. Where did they come from and why are they targeting this particular town? I've been poking around, but haven't had too much time to actually sleuth," she said with a slight shrug. The subject of monsters and where they came from was a subject that could only be talked about with Terezi. She simply couldn't find a simple way to bring it up to Jake- if there even was a simple way to bring up the matter.
WHY 1ND33D... WHY 1ND33D
Terezi finished off another cherry tart, leaving one left on the plate. Fluttering her eyes open, she shrugged as well. "Yeah, seems more than a coincidence that all of this is happening with no answer on to why in sight or smell." Dropping a small hint, but even that wouldn't help Jane track down the answers she was looking for. Terezi could've been a real pal and just flat out told her what was going on but there was no fun in that.
"Hey!" She pointed at Jane, smiling. "I have an idea. Why don't you view the footage the news put out? I've only got what I can hear and read to help me understand what's going on but you have eyes. I bet you could find a clue!" Her smile warped into a wild grin. "Call me if you find anything and we can kick start the investigation together."
Plucking the last tart, knowing she was probably going to get a stomach ache from all the sweets; Terezi took a hearty bite through caution to the wind. "Oh, speaking of investigations." She replied with tart still in her mouth. "I was wondering if you could help me with a friend. I'm a little bias but I need a general reading on her character. Could you help?"

At the mention of Terezi's idea, Jane perked up, nearly face-palming at the fact that she hadn't thought about it. Her sleuthing skills were growing rusty! She knew she'd need to brush up on them by watching gumshoe movies and finding small cases around her apartment. "That's a good idea, of course, I would have thought of it, too!" she said, trying to mask the slight embarrassment she felt at not coming up with the idea herself. "I will call you if I find anything out."
"A friend? Well, I suppose so! How can I be of service to you, Ms. Pyrope?" she chuckled softly, bowing slightly, despite the fact that her friend wouldn't be able to see it.

"I'll give you the low-down. She's my best friend, almost a sister to me. We go way back as kids even up until High School until drama happened and I kind of left her in the dust. I feel really bad but she's also not really an angel. We're reconnecting and I'm starting to doubt my own intuition. I'm afraid I'm not approaching her logically. That's where you come in." Terezi sighed, feeling sort of ashamed she was letting her feelings and emotions cloud most of her judgement on Vriska. "I was hoping you would meet her, get a reading on her and tell me what you think. Even if you hate her, I'm still going to be her friend. I just... I don't have the heart to abandon her again. But also, maybe you might like her. She really livens up the party." A smirk played along her lips, Vriska was a balance of chaos in both a good and bad way in Terezi's mind.

Hearing just how close her and Vriska were made Jane understand why Terezi was asking for her help. Terezi hadn't given her enough to go on when explaining Vriska, which made her curiosity jump. She wanted to know more; she wanted to meet this Vriska woman. It was time to put on her sleuthing shoes and tackle everything Terezi had put forth! "Well, when would you like me to meet her? I must say I'm looking forward to this!" she nearly exclaimed, trying to contain her joy at being asked to approach someone logically, and with a clear, fresh mind.

"Yes, I'll be watching those videos tonight and letting you know what I find from them. And just give me a call when your friend agrees; I'm looking forward to meeting her," Jane said, looking down at the empty plate when the cherry tarts were brought up. "Oh! Don't worry about it; those were on the house. Have a nice day, Terezi!"
