This was it. Karkat was actually going to go on a date with Terezi. If he had told his past self that this would happen, back when he'd literally been trying to set her up with Dave, past him probably would have laughed his ass off. But there he was. He had put on a bunch of different shirts and outfits, absolutely none of which looked good on him. Eventually, he had settled for his brightest red t-shirt and a normal pair of jeans. Terezi was blind, anyway, the color was all that actually mattered.
The plan was to meet up at the Benjamin Building near the front entrance and take a taxi to their destination. Karkat knew where they were headed, but like the master of romance he was, he was keeping as a surprise for her. Hopefully, she'd like it. And wouldn't think it was stupid. Actually now that Karkat thought about it, it was definitely the worst place he could possibly take her and oh shit he needed to think of something else. But they were meeting up in ten minutes and he'd already made a point of making it a surprise and if he took her to some basic coffee shop that would be even more idiotic and oh fuck why hadn't he let her make the plans this was going to be a fucking disaster.
On that note, Karkat pocketed his phone and wallet and pushed open the door to his room, prepared to face his doom. His head was swimming and he was basically trying not to think about anything as he walked all the way through his dorm and then outside across the campus. Luckily, it was a nice, sunny day. Everything would have been ruined if it had been raining. People walked the sidewalks around him, chatting merrily, blissfully unaware that there was a doomed main in their midst.
Finally, he spotted the building in the distance, and near the front entrance there was a girl that looked about the right height and stature to be Terezi. As soon as he saw her, there was an almost painful lurch in his stomach. Swallowing down the nerves, he closed the rest of the distance between them and greeted her nervously.
"Hey, Terezi.. You ready to go?"
